The landscape of the Dolomites
On your first day, you will have enough time to get comfortable at your accommodation and explore the idyllic town of Corvara in the scenic Val Badia valley. Make sure you get enough rest for the upcoming days of walking.
Upon waking up and enjoying a nutritious breakfast, you will catch a bus from Corvara to the Valparola pass. That is where your today’s adventure begins, taking you across the green meadows and past alpine lakes back to Corvara.
As you hike below the Setsas mountain peak, you will be able to delight in the views surrounding you. After seeing enough of the Val Badia valley from above, you will descend back down for a night of rest.
16 km; 240 m of elevation gain and 840 m of elevation loss
Following a tiresome day of walking, a less challenging stage awaits you. The Piz Boe cable car will take you to an altitude of 2200 meters. After that, you will follow a balcony path around the Col de Stagn peak while admiring its steep rock faces. The view opens up towards Marmolada, the highest peak in the Dolomites.
You can have lunch at the Franz Kostner hut, taking advantage of their delicious Ladin dishes. The trail then rounds back towards the upper Boe cable car station, but in case you feel too tired, you can ride a chairlift before switching to the cable car.
10 km; 500 m of elevation gain and 1170 m of elevation loss
Today is time for another slightly longer stage, starting with a short transfer to the Gardena mountain pass. The walking begins with a climb, but the route soon levels out, and you will reach the Clampei mountain pass upon a relatively straight rocky path.
Here, you can either strike towards the Puez hut and return upon the same trail or start descending to Corvara immediately by the Edelweiss hut and village of Colfosco.
14 km; 520 m of elevation gain and 1080 m of elevation loss
Starting in Corvara, you will begin walking toward La Villa alongside the main road at the foot of the mountains. As you ascend above La Villa, the views will get more striking with every step until you reach the Gardenaccia cable car station.
You will descend to Badia past the Sponata lake and loop back to Corvara on the other side of the valley, passing traditional mountain lodges and other monuments of the Ladin culture.
20 km; 750 m of elevation gain and loss
Your last active day begins with a quick bus ride to the village of Badia, where you will take the La Crusc cable car up the mountain. After that, you will follow an up-and-down path toward the Rit mountain hut.
Then you only have to descend to the La Val village, which preserved its traditional spirit, giving you a feeling of calmness and authenticity when walking its streets. Here, you will catch a bus back to Corvara to spend your final night in the Dolomites.
15 km; 500 m of elevation gain and 1200 m of elevation loss
Every fairytale has its ending, and even your story in the Dolomites will conclude. But before that, you can still enjoy your final day in Corvara, depending on when you have a flight to catch.

The Badia valley is vastly renowned for its ski slopes, but summer holidays in the Dolomites will leave you with just as many (if not more) memorable moments and fresh experiences. And the authentic alpine village of Corvara, surrounded by the towering Dolomites mountain peaks, is the perfect place for them!
As there are so many noteworthy walking trails around Corvara, these holidays include a significant amount of daily hiking. Although paths can be rocky at certain sections, they are technically undemanding and offer escape routes, including chair lifts and cable cars.
You will visit the scenic mountain passes, such as Passo Valparola and Passo Gardena, before finding your way back to the valley along panoramic trails, astonished by the views of the Marmolada, Civetta, and Pelmo mountain peaks in the distance.

Although hiking in light rain is manageable as long as proper attire is worn, it is crucial to note that hiking during a storm can be extremely dangerous. It is recommended to schedule hikes early in the day during the summer months to avoid thunderstorms. However, if the forecast predicts severe weather, it is best to reschedule, or we can advise you on a different tour option.
It depends on the tour, as some routes run well above 2000 or even 2500 meters of elevation. Therefore, they are impassable in snowy conditions, limiting the visiting season to the summer and early autumn days between late June and early October.
However, some of our holidays keep to lower elevations, so hiking in early spring or late autumn is still possible. You can read more extensively about it on our subpage about the Dolomites.
All the accommodations offer vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast. You also will not have any trouble finding such menus at restaurants. When you eat at mountain huts, though, they might not serve vegan meals. In such cases, it is best to bring your own food.
Our hiking holidays are suitable for children as long as they are prepared physically and sure-footed. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of young participants, we recommend that they be at least eight years old to join the tours.
While our tours are designed to suit a wide range of people, some days can include long distances with substantial elevation gain. We try to keep this to a minimum while preserving the overall quality of your experience, but you should be used to walking for 4-6 hours while overcoming around 600 meters of elevation.
We also try to route our walks in the vicinity of cable cars and chairlifts to shorten your climbs or help you descend in case of fatigue.
Shoes are an essential piece of equipment when walking in the Dolomites. We suggest you wear sturdy hiking shoes with ankle support for all our tours, as the ground in the Dolomites is uneven, sometimes rocky, and slippery. Therefore, you risk a severe injury if you wear sneakers, especially if you are not used to hiking on such terrain.
The car might offer you slightly more flexibility and freedom, but it is not necessary to come by car, as public transport is well-organized in the Dolomites and the entire Alps. Even traveling across different countries is very convenient. Be it by bus or train — you can reach virtually any destination in the Dolomites using public transport.

Keep in mind that the Dolomites are one of the most popular tourist destinations all year round, and all accommodations are subject to availability. Therefore, early booking is crucial to ensure the housing you desire, but we will always do our best to get you the optimal lodging based on your preferences.
Yes. The sooner you book, the better your options will be. If you book just before the season starts or during the season, we cannot guarantee you a spot in the hotels and apartments.
Some stages can be shortened by descending to the valley sooner than intended. At some locations, you can even do so by taking a chairlift or a cable car. However, we try to keep our tours as undemanding as possible, so you will not encounter such issues.
The Dolomites’ area is well-connected to the outside world, making it easy to access by public transport. You can do so by flying to one of the nearest airports in Venice, Treviso, or Innsbruck, and then taking a train or bus to reach the final destination.
